Wine for women who do extraordinary things, every day.

Meet Belinda Jackson

As the founder of The Sisters Wines, Belinda personifies our brand’s ethos. She’s a woman who does extraordinary things, every day, and today we’re excited to tell you a bit more about her in the following Q&A:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role?

I have worked with wine since the mid-eighties and across many different parts of the industry in the UK, Europe and New Zealand. Creating brands and giving them purpose is something I very much enjoy, and The Sisters is one such brand.

When and why did you fall in love with wine?

I started in the industry when I was 19. My dad gave me a hundred pounds, a set of luggage and a one-way plane ticket to Bordeaux. It was all a bit scary at first, being away from my home in England, but my love of wine grew at a fast pace and I have never looked back.

What’s your favourite wine of the range and why?

Right now it’d have to be the Rose. This wine just suits any occasion, mood and taste. Dry yet fruity, well-structured yet imminently enjoyable.

The Sisters wines are made for women who do extraordinary things. Please tell us 3 women you admire and why.

Jacinda Ardern is one. Not because of her politics necessarily, but her openness, her leadership and her humanness.

I’m just reading about Virginia Hall – an American woman who worked with the United Kingdom’s clandestine Special Operations Executive and the American Office of Strategic Services in France during World War II. What she achieved, and how she did it as part of the Resistance, is truly, truly remarkable.

My other is perhaps Vivienne Westwood, the British fashion designer and businesswoman, responsible for bringing punk and all manner of irreverent fashion into the mainstream. She made a huge impact.

Please share a highlight of your year so far

My sons’ first year at university has been amazing to watch them grow and fascinating to hear about their studies and their new lives.

What are you most looking forward to over the festive season?

Time away from the computer, at home with family and friends, gardening, good food and great wine!
